Compost Jax
Our mission is to collect food, agricultural, and forestry waste, and process it into nutrient rich compost and biochar, and return it back to the soil. There it will re-enter the growth cycle at your local farm or in your backyard garden. Making local communities healthier.
An American company located in Florida and expanding into the Southeast. The team at Compost Jax strives to be a truly sustainable business that is profitable, good for the people and planet too. A business rooted in community, dependability, environmental & social responsibility; Compost Jax seeks to not only divert food waste but to educate and build a community that sustains for generations to come.
Smart Waste Management
The United States has a food waste problem. According to the US Department of Agriculture, organic & food waste fills 30% of the nation’s landfills and contributes to the excessive release of methane gas, which is harmful to our health, environment, and the ozone layer. In fact, nearly all of the food wasted in North Florida goes to landfills. Compost Jax helps businesses, landscapers, municipalities, farmers, ranchers and landowners, remove of their organic waste in a climate smart way.
We Make Black Gold
We take diverted food & organic waste and turn it into nutrient-rich compost, biochar, and soil amendments (a.k.a. Black Gold) that are used to replenish the soil and grow food again. Our facilities process thousands of metric tons of organic waste which means fewer greenhouse emissions and more carbon sequestration, and richer healthier crops and gardens.

Your farm or ranch can also hire us to improve your organics waste management. Farmers never want to see the food they grow wasted, but sometimes crops are left unharvested because of labor shortages, weather conditions, cosmetic imperfections, and fluctuating market prices. There are many ways to help reduce this waste from going to the landfill or polluting the air by burning it.
We work with forest land owners to handle their forest residues and wood waste. We process this woody biomass and size reduce it into a soil amendment to get back out to your forest floor.
